【QBISM】
A unique fashion vision rooted in the tradition of craftsmanship and the innovation of upcycling.
Established in Paris, France in 2013, QBISM is a brand by designer Quentin Nghiem. Its name fuses the initial "Q" with the art movement "Cubism," reflecting a philosophy of fragmented beauty and reconstructed identity.
With over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, Quentin's journey is characterized by craftsmanship, innovation, and a deep respect for materials. After graduating from the haute couture department in Paris in 1994, he gained diverse experience, working at HERMÈS' tailoring atelier, as chief of atelier and pattern assistant for Jean Colonna, and contributing to the conception of Comme des Garçons' fragrance packaging for Christian Astuguevieille. He later participated in designing collections for MUJI Europe and creating runway pieces for Louis Vuitton Homme. However, his career was most significantly shaped by his experience with Maison Martin Margiela's Artisanal "0-10" men's line from 2005 to 2007, a period when founder Martin himself was still involved.
Infusing this rich legacy into QBISM, the brand embodies his unique codes: hybridization, deconstruction, trompe l'oeil, patchwork, material fusion, and creative reuse. Each collection is crafted in small quantities with artisanal precision, promoting upcycling and the reinterpretation of vintage items. The scope of reconstruction is wide-ranging, from denim, sportswear, bomber jackets, and workwear to military items.
QBISM is more than just a brand; it is a manifesto. While each season brings new challenges, Quentin's approach emphasizes "evolution" over "reinvention." He refines past ideas, pushes concepts further, and creates timeless pieces that remain fresh and relevant across time.
