MotivMfg

Founded in 2016 by Samuel Wei and Daniel Gu, MotivMfg is an independent design and production studio that aims to create garments rooted in tradition but made for the future. Through continuous research into traditional garment-making techniques of tailoring and workwear, we extract the "human element" inherent in these methods, pursuing a form of clothing creation that can be called "re-creation" rather than mere "reproduction." That is, clothing that interacts with the contemporary wearer's body and environment in a unique way.

All MotivMfg products are made by a small production team at our own facility in Beijing. By combining skilled artisans with our unique equipment, we create garments that merge the three-dimensional silhouette of tailored clothing that follows the human body with industrial sewing details. This is difficult to achieve with large-scale industrial production.
