Until the middle of the 20th century, celluloid eyeglasses were the mainstream, as the fabric has a deep color and the more you use it, the more you wear it on your skin. Not only is it unsuitable for mass production, but it is also flammable and requires time and effort to process. As far as fashion is concerned, this fact is a matter of concern, and in 2013, he started the eyeglass brand <kearny>.

Designer Fujiki Kumagai named it after Kearney Street in San Francisco, where he used to sleep when he was a second-hand clothing buyer. We use celluloid parts for all of our eyeglasses, based on our desire to pass on to future generations the craftsmanship that supported an era in the eyewear industry. Respecting the designs that colored each era, he pursues a single-minded manufacturing that blends what he sees with his own eyes and touches with his own hands into products.
