Klättermusen "Algir Sack Pack / Sea Foam"

Regular price $84.00

The Algir series knapsack model supports various uses. It can be carried on the back using the shoulder straps that are integrated with the drawcord. A mesh pocket on the outside allows for storage of items that need to be accessed quickly. A grab loop at the opening allows for quick access to your belongings. The red aluminum quick-attach toggles allow it to be easily connected to backpacks with loop webbing, increasing the storage capacity of a trekking pack.

For trekking and hiking, it can be used as an external attachment to a backpack, and also as an attack sack when leaving the main pack at a base camp. After descending, it can also serve as a hot spring bag for carrying a change of clothes when stopping at a hot spring.

In 2009, Klättermusen was the first outdoor company to adopt recycled polyamide for all its backpack products. Klättermusen backpacks are 100% recycled products made from fishing nets (used aquaculture nets and ghost fishing nets), fluff (used nylon carpet tops), plastic industrial waste, and scraps of yarn and fabric.

The idea for Retina® 70 denier ripstop was to create a lightweight fabric that could be used for the lightest packs and bags. The main focus was to make it as light as possible while ensuring sufficient durability for a Klättermusen fabric, and ripstop was adopted to achieve this. The front of the fabric has a Skyle coating (surface coating) to give the surface water repellency. The coating helps the water-repellent function last longer on the fabric. Also, with an emphasis on lightness, the back is coated with PU2 to achieve 300mm water resistance. The material used is 70 denier Econyl® fabric. Econyl® is a recycled yarn made from 50% post-consumer recycled and 50% pre-consumer recycled polyamide.

Polyamide (nylon) is a synthetic fiber made from petroleum, which creates a very strong and versatile fabric. Klättermusen uses recycled polyamide from industrial waste and consumers. Post-consumer waste is our primary choice, as we want to encourage recycling of used products. Post-consumer waste used in recycled polyamide includes discarded industrial fishing nets, old carpets, and hard fibers. While recycling polyamide makes the production process more complex, the result is a reliable, long-lasting material that is lightweight, quick-drying, and wind-resistant, utilizing what would otherwise be waste while saving energy and resources. In 2009, Klättermusen was the first outdoor company to adopt recycled polyamide for all its backpack products.
