When alpaca wool became a global trend in the 1960s, pure white fibers, which are versatile when dyeing, became popular, and many natural colors were in danger of extinction. Today, only 28 colors remain, and the rarest of these, black alpacas, account for less than 0.05% of all alpacas living in the Andes Mountains of Peru.

Baby alpaca is the best-known, high-quality alpaca fiber, with a fiber diameter of 22-23 microns (1 micron = 0.001 mm). Alpaca wool is soft, silky, and free of allergy-causing lanolin. Its unique hollow structure also provides insulation and temperature regulation, helping it to withstand the elements.

The Inoue Brothers was founded in 2004 by two Japanese brothers, Satoru and Kiyoshi Inoue, who were born in Copenhagen, Denmark.
A design and art studio born out of a love for two cultures – Japanese delicacy and Nordic simplicity – they call their brand “Scandinasian”. The Inoue Brothers brand has been developed with uncompromising ideals, yet with a radically open perspective.
As a result, we have been able to build strong ties with diverse indigenous heritage, culture and artisanal communities.
With each project, their main goal is to raise awareness of responsible production methods through quality and design.
