This is a collaboration with Dora Goods, a company that produces ceramic works in the beautiful little seaside village of DEIA on the island of Mallorca.
Dora's work is inspired by Mallorca and its nature.
The volcano-like effect on the surface is created when chemicals in Dora's original recipe glaze react at the firing temperature of 1,255 degrees.
The metallic appearance of the black ceramic surface comes from the manganese and metal oxides present in the glaze.
If you look closely, you can see beautiful mineral colors such as blue and purple mixed in with the black.
