Born in Gunma Prefecture to a Taiwanese mother and a Japanese father, he grew up surrounded by nature.
During his childhood he spent a lot of time in Taiwan.
His ethnic sensibility and having moved to Los Angeles during his adolescence have led to him being strongly influenced by modernism and vintage styles.
