Designer Ahlem Manai-Platt grew up in France and founded AHLEM in 2014 after working in the apparel industry for brands like Acne Studios and Miu Miu. Her designs are strongly influenced by the Bauhaus movement of the early 20th century, characterized by simple beauty and a style that combines functionality and fashion. Her timeless lineup is inspired by Parisian architecture and neighborhoods, with model names incorporating the names of Parisian streets and neighborhoods. Her designs were highly praised by buyers at Colette Paris even at the prototype stage, leading to their selection at the store, proving their quality. Each piece is handcrafted by artisans in Oyonnax, a small town in the Jura region of France. The beautiful plating on the metal frames is applied in a factory used by jewelers, creating a sophisticated look with the same 22-karat gold sheen.
