This gilet was created based on a vintage children's three-piece suit that was discovered in England.
The design is based on a heartfelt vintage story of a velvet patch used to create the width of the garment so that it can be worn even after the child grows up. The clothes, sewn with buttons everywhere, gave me the opportunity to learn about British culture.
The design was inspired by "Pearly King, Pearly Queen," the uniform of a British charity organization which is said to have started when a road sweeper found shell buttons and attached them to his clothes to raise funds for children in orphanages and hospitals.
The patterns are made one by one using shell buttons.
