SUKU HOME - LIFESTYLE

A lifestyle homeware brand founded by "Christin Lafian" based in Melbourne, Australia . Designer Christine Lafian, who grew up in Indonesia, was inspired by her environment surrounded by a myriad of colors and patterns and her desire to incorporate the artwork of tribal cultures into modern homes.

She believes that the home is an extension of oneself, and with this in mind, each piece is selected and designed with love and integrity. Inspired by the small villages along the coast of Indonesia, Christine traveled around her homeland collecting the work of local artisans and discovering true patterns, a unique aesthetic and style. The combination of traditional pattern work and bold, colorful designs brings out SUKU's rare and beautiful nature.

SUKU is rooted in authenticity, sustainability, and unites a global community around ethical fair trade practices and shared experiences . More than just ornaments, each product is expertly handcrafted and woven from their own lives. SUKU HOME's sustainable clothing focuses on the background of the product itself, the production process, and its actual functionality. The products reflect Indonesia's natural beauty and richness, as well as its traditional textiles. With a focus on social and environmental sustainability, we maintain partnerships with artisans and their communities across Indonesia. All designs and brand decisions are based on this philosophy.
We strive to transparently and consciously provide products that are pleasant to use .

The materials used have been carefully selected for comfort and consideration of their impact on the environment and the international community. We place the highest emphasis on the production process, selecting materials that allow for small-scale production by local artisans who operate on sustainable and fair trade principles. The traditional Indonesian batik techniques, dip dye and hand painting, are carried out by skilled Balinese craftsmen using natural fabrics such as bamboo and organic cotton, and are a very delicate process until completion. It will take approximately 3 weeks. The embroideries and knits are also produced by hand in a small-scale environment that conveys the blessings of tradition and expert skill .

Natural dyeing and handicrafts are delicate and time-consuming processes, but
each product is beautiful and unique. We bring you unique Suku Home products made with love and intention.
