This shirt features an OPTICAL BATIK pattern, made from a particularly impressive thin silk habutai material, chosen as a highlight of this season.
The pattern was inspired by Riso Print wrapping paper discovered at PRINT ROOM, a bookshop in Rotterdam, during a trip to the Netherlands.
This wrapping paper was a collaboration with Berlin-based artist Sophie Duala.
Her unique patterns, with roots in Africa and raised in Paris, resemble both African batik and optical art.
This is a three-company collaboration series where CURRENTAGE transformed this pattern into fabric and incorporated it into clothing.
The colors and patterns, reflecting this season's theme of "Happiness of living" – such as bright, light-filled hues, earth-toned burgundy, and nature-inspired blues and greens – are key items this season.
