【QBISM】
A unique fashion vision rooted in the tradition of craftsmanship and the innovation of upcycling.
Established in Paris, France in 2013, QBISM is a brand by designer Quentin Nghiem. Its name is a fusion of the initial "Q" and the art movement "Cubism," reflecting a philosophy of fragmented beauty and re-constructed identity.
Quentin's journey, with over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, is marked by craftsmanship, innovation, and a deep respect for materials. After graduating from the haute couture department in Paris in 1994, he gained diverse experience, working at HERMÈS' tailoring atelier, as chief of atelier and pattern assistant for Jean Colonna, and contributing to the Comme des Garçons fragrance packaging concept at Christian Astuguevieille. He then participated in collection design for MUJI Europe and creating runway pieces for Louis Vuitton Homme. However, his career was most characterized by his experience with Maison Martin Margiela's artisanal "0-10" men's line from 2005 to 2007. This was during the last era in which founder Martin himself was involved.
Infusing this rich legacy into QBISM, the brand embodies his unique codes: hybridization, deconstruction, trompe l'oeil, patchwork, material fusion, and creative reuse. Each collection is produced in small quantities with artisanal precision, promoting upcycling and the reinterpretation of vintage. The subjects of reconstruction range widely, from denim, sportswear, bomber jackets, workwear, to military items.
QBISM is not just a brand, but a manifesto. While new challenges arise each season, Quentin's approach emphasizes "evolution" over "reinvention." He refines past ideas, pushes concepts further, and creates timeless pieces that remain fresh and relevant across time.
