PHOTOCOPIEU "ONE-SHOULDER DRAWSTRING DRESS / GALLA D

Regular price $324.00

One-shoulder dress made from medium-weight stretch denim.
The waist detail is inspired by Aino and Alvar Aalto's bent wood construction.
Rather than completely tailoring the garment, it is made with an adjuster and a drawstring, making it adjustable and creating a swaying pleated detail, which is the PHOTOCOPIEU style and gives it a realistic look.

Please adjust the position, including the shoulder straps, to suit your style, depending on the clothes you are wearing underneath and your body balance.
The one-wash look and camel stitching in a denim color scheme give it a more everyday feel.
It is washable, but please be careful of color transfer.
The BLACK item uses fabric dyed using a method called sulfur dyeing, which means the color tends to fade when washed, so if you are not concerned about the color fading, we recommend dry cleaning.

"
Love for the things that are often overlooked "
ALVA AALTO, a master of Nordic design.
I watched the film of the same name to learn more about him, and was more moved by the presence of his wife, AINO, than by the man himself.
At that time, there must have been many more challenges for women to work, especially in the construction industry, than there are today.
There are far fewer articles about AINO, the designer who supported ALVA at the expense of his own life, than there are about ALVA itself.

In clothing terms, workwear is clothing for the anonymous masses.
Each garment is made with the help of each individual worker and repaired individually, and can be said to be haute couture that develops over time and becomes unique to the individual.
Beautiful light shone into my messy studio, and I couldn't help but take this photo.
This nameless scene that no one has ever seen before has been turned into fabric using Gobelin tapestry.
Scattered ribbons and computer batteries.
Ordinary everyday scenes create works of art that are composed to exist only in that moment.
I want to pick up things that have been overlooked in our daily lives and the activities of people and make them visible.
With this in mind, I am interested in expressing inspiration from popular clothing using high-end fabrics and techniques, and creating a balance that seems familiar yet has never been seen before.

ABOUT
PHOTOCOPIEU is the answer to the 10 years of creating clothes in Tokyo and Paris while thinking about how women live their lives.
Identity is a quiet revolution.
I don't consider myself a feminist, but I feel stressed about the obstacles women around me face in juggling work and family life, as well as the way society is structured, and I have wondered if there is a way for them to live more comfortably.
PHOTOCOPIEU clothing is the culmination of all of my work and personal experiences from the past 10 years.

Rather than using the creative power I have cultivated up until now for a moment such as a show or photography, I used it to make everyday life more comfortable.
As you blend into your daily life, you will discover a new you.

Photocopiu's clothing, which combines a feminine silhouette with a strong presence, was born from her empathy with the flexible yet strong attitude of the women she met in Paris.
While the surface decoration is cleanly removed, the lines of change are made with the warmth of the hand.
The organic forms, with glimpses of the female body, evoke passionate emotions in both the wearer and the viewer.
Our everyday clothing is designed to blend into your everyday life while still providing a striking silhouette and comfort.
Gradually, it will become a necessary tool for a life that embodies that person's individuality.
