KAMARO'AN "WOVEN CAMERA POUCH"

Regular price $282.00

"Kopid"** is a traditional vintage portable basket from the Panza people.
It was used to store rice balls and utensils.
It is large enough to hold a camera, cell phone, and other small items, and has a strap. The length is adjustable.
The lidded bag construction represents storage in its purest form in an era before buttons and metal fittings.
Each piece is carefully crafted in a workshop by indigenous artisans.
We use vegetable tanned leather from Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana in Italy.
It is made from cowhide tanned with natural plant extracts.
Over time a beautiful patina will develop, the colour will deepen and the texture will become soft and lustrous.
The surface of the leather is treated with a protective layer of natural wax to protect it from minor dirt and stains .

《KAMARO'AN》
A tribe is a collective name for people that has become established as a way to describe different ethnic groups.
They begin as small communities and then expand into cities, kingdoms, empires, and finally globalization .
The Bay is home to a small number of indigenous people who have enthusiastically preserved and passed on their unique values, traditional culture, crafts and traditions , and have continued their ethnic knowledge . However, their communities and economies are losing vitality and creativity, and are shrinking.
He inspires people to look back at the ordinary objects that have been familiar to generations and seek out the original purity and timeless essence that these objects reflect .
Based on the strong belief that it is not a show or campaign, but a product, KAMARO'AN was launched in 2013 as a project by a team of two industrial designers and one indigenous culture researcher to explore the possibility of embodying traditional crafts and cultural values in product design .
Inspired by Taiwan's indigenous culture, KAMARO'AN pursues delicate craftsmanship with clean designs, working closely with local artisans and resources, creating jobs for young people with indigenous backgrounds, and paying attention to supporting and preserving local traditions and working conditions. The origin of the name KAMARO'AN comes from the Amis people's folk language Pangcah, one of the indigenous peoples of Taiwan, and the brand's focus on handmade everyday items that reflect their way of life in harmony with nature, and is committed to flashy yet practical weaving .
