Loïs Dionisio creates garments that blend the precise tailoring of bespoke menswear with the robustness and practicality of workwear. In addition to jacket interlinings, silk cord buttonholes, and hand-sewn collars and cuffs, traditional sewing techniques such as French seams and felled seams are employed. By combining the three-dimensional cutting derived from tailoring with functional structures like workwear gussets, a sophisticated appearance and comfortable fit are achieved.
All pieces are meticulously handcrafted one by one in the Lyon atelier, from pattern making to cutting and sewing. A distinctive feature is the dedication of artisanal skill, focusing on simple equipment and a single lockstitch sewing machine, differing from industrial production. Emphasizing small-batch production using traditional fabric manufacturing methods, and incorporating generous seam allowances, future size adjustments and alterations are accommodated. The goal is to create timeless garments that can be cherished for a long time.
