SUKU HOME - WOMENS

A lifestyle homeware brand founded by Christin Lafian, based in Melbourne, Australia . Designer Christine Lafian grew up in Indonesia, surrounded by countless colors and patterns, and was inspired by her desire to incorporate tribal art into the modern home .

She believes that the home is an extension of the self, and with that as a backdrop, each piece is selected and designed with love and sincerity. Inspired by the small coastal villages of Indonesia, Christine traveled around her native Indonesia to collect the works of local artisans, unearthing her own unique aesthetic and style. The combination of traditional pattern work and bold, colorful designs highlights the rare and beautiful nature of SUKU.

SUKU is rooted in authenticity, sustainability,
ethical fair trade practices and shared experiences that connect our global community. More than just decorative items, each piece is expertly handcrafted and woven with our lives. SUKU HOME's vision of sustainable clothing is based on the context of the product itself, the production process and the actual functionality. Our products reflect the natural beauty and richness of Indonesia and its traditional textiles. With a focus on social and environmental sustainability, we maintain partnerships with artisans and their communities across Indonesia. Every design and brand decision is based on this philosophy.
We strive to be transparent and conscious, and to provide products that are pleasant to use .

The materials used are carefully selected for comfort and consideration of the impact on the environment and the international community. The production process is the most important factor, and materials are selected so that they can be produced in small scale by local artisans who are sustainable and run on a fair trade basis. Indonesian traditional batik techniques, dip dye and hand painting, are performed by skilled Balinese artisans using natural fabrics such as bamboo and organic cotton , and are a very delicate process that takes about three weeks to complete. Embroidery and knitting are also produced by hand in a small-scale environment, conveying the blessings of tradition and skilled skills .

Natural dyeing and handcrafting are delicate and time-consuming processes, but
they make each piece beautiful and unique. Each Suku Home product is made with love and care, making it one of a kind.
