Katra® organic cotton is Klettalmusen's unique performance cotton material that rivals synthetic fibers. Utilizing bionic principles, a natural process, it gives cotton a distinctive lustrous appearance and properties similar to those of synthetic fibers. By subjecting cotton to pressure and heat that mimics geological compression, we create a natural fabric that is windproof, water repellent, and breathable. The addition of ripstop to the fabric significantly increases its strength and allows it to withstand heavy loads. Because it complies with high-quality ecological standards, it takes much longer to produce than regular cotton. For example, with conventional cotton, the time from fiber to fabric is approximately 55 days. However, lightweight 100% organic cotton material takes more than 85 days. In today's rapidly changing society, Klättalmusen believes that slowdown is necessary for people and the environment.
