The Multiple Day series is inspired by the kimonos of Shimura Fukumi, one of Japan's leading dyeing artists, and designer Tsukasaki Eriko paints her images in watercolors and then expresses them through dyeing.
The dress has a seemingly simple silhouette that highlights the beauty of the dye, but when worn it has a lovely couture-like voluminous sleeves.
Each piece is hand-dyed using an arrangement and mix of various traditional techniques, including tube dyeing, basket dyeing, and board fastening.
The gradation created by the exquisite mixing of colors is beautiful, and each piece is unique.
