Loïs Dionisio creates garments that fuse the precision of tailoring with the durability and practicality of workwear. The pieces employ traditional sewing techniques such as French seams and flat-felled seams, alongside hand-stitched jacket interlining, silk-corded buttonholes, and hand-finished collars and cuffs. By combining tailor-derived three-dimensional cutting with functional structures like workwear gussets, the designs achieve both a sophisticated appearance and a comfortable fit.
Every piece is meticulously crafted by hand in the Lyon atelier, from pattern-making and cutting to sewing. Centered around simple equipment and a single lockstitch sewing machine, the work is distinguished by the infusion of artisanal techniques that differ from industrial production. Committed to small-batch production using fabrics made with traditional methods, the garments are designed with generous seam allowances to allow for future resizing and tailoring. The goal is to create timeless clothing that can be cherished for years to come.
