Linen fabric developed in collaboration with skilled linen weavers in Shenzhen, China. By using fine linen yarn and weaving it at a very high density, it achieves a lightweight yet firm structure. It possesses ideal characteristics as a summer shirt fabric.

The design features an elegant mandarin collar, inspired by the shirts favored by pianist Mikhail Pletnev. Two flap pockets, reminiscent of classic Mao jackets, are placed on the chest, balancing functionality and design. Double pleats are added to the back to ensure a full range of motion, allowing for unrestricted movement during performances. The slightly longer and roomier sleeve design also allows for styling variations such as rolling up or pushing up the sleeves.

Founded in 2016 by Samuel Wei and Daniel Gu, MotivMfg is an independent design and production studio that aims to create garments rooted in tradition but made for the future. Through continuous research into traditional garment-making techniques in tailoring and workwear, we extract the "human element" inherent in these methods, pursuing garment creation that can be called "re-creation" rather than mere "reproduction." In other words, clothes that interact with the contemporary wearer's body and environment in a unique way.
All MotivMfg products are produced by a small production team at our own facility in Beijing. By combining skilled craftsmen with unique equipment, we create garments that merge the three-dimensional silhouette of tailored clothing that conforms to the human body with industrial sewing details. This is difficult to achieve with large-scale industrial production.
