Celluloid eyeglasses were popular until the mid-20th century as a fabric that has a deep color and matures as it blends into your skin the more you use it. Not only is it unsuitable for mass production, but it also requires time and effort to process and is flammable, so as time passes, the technology is being passed down. Feeling that this fact is something to be concerned about as far as fashion is concerned, in 2013 he started the glasses brand ``kearny''.

The name is inspired by Kearney Street in San Francisco, where designer Fujiki Kumagai used to sleep when he was a used clothes buyer, and the name conveys the idea of ``the intersection of history and culture.'' Celluloid parts are used in all of our glasses, with the desire to pass on to future generations the craftsmanship that supported an era in the eyewear industry. Paying respect to the designs that colored each era, he pursues a unique way of making things that incorporates what he has seen with his eyes and touched with his hands into his products.
