Yamauchi "SILK GABARDINE DOUBLE STITCH SHIRT for LOCALERS / SUMI KURO"
This long-sleeved silk gabardine shirt with pockets was specially made for us as a LOCALERS Exclusive. While it is a silk shirt, we encourage you to wear it somewhat casually – in a good way – and wash it without hesitation, letting it develop its own character over time. Despite this, it is, in true Yamauchi fashion, a garment crafted with superb fabric and sewing techniques that will withstand the test of time. Thank you, Yamauchi, as always.

ーProduct Descriptionー (From Yamauchi's HP)
Compared to other Yamauchi shirts, this item features a slightly larger stand collar and body design, giving it a casual impression. However, unlike other shirts, the #30 stitching is a design highlight, with a double stitch of 4mm plus an edge stitch applied throughout. While Yamauchi is known for incorporating casual designs and materials, this piece, like all Yamauchi items, is meticulously tailored in a uniquely subtle way, making it a truly one-of-a-kind garment.
ーFabric Descriptionー
Vintage Silk Gabardine (Hokuriku Region)
This is a 2/2 twill weave (gabardine) using raw silk filament yarn for the warp and spun silk yarn for the weft.
This premium silk fabric undergoes a suede-like process, where its surface is intentionally abraded using special equipment, followed by a bio-treatment to remove stiffness. This transforms the fabric into a soft, vintage-like texture. While silk often carries the impression of requiring delicate care, these two treatments make it easy to use without worry and allow for hand-washing at home.
