The main focus was to make it as light as possible while ensuring sufficient durability for a Klättermusen fabric, and ripstop was adopted to achieve this. The front of the fabric has a Skyle coating (surface coating) to give the surface water repellency. The coating helps the water-repellent function last longer on the fabric. Also, with an emphasis on lightness, the back is coated with PU2 to achieve 300mm water resistance. The material used is 70 denier Econyl® fabric. Econyl® is a recycled yarn made from 50% post-consumer recycled and 50% pre-consumer recycled polyamide.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003ePolyamide (nylon) is a synthetic fiber made from petroleum, which creates a very strong and versatile fabric. Klättermusen uses recycled polyamide from industrial waste and consumers. Post-consumer waste is our primary choice, as we want to encourage recycling of used products. Post-consumer waste used in recycled polyamide includes discarded industrial fishing nets, old carpets, and hard fibers. While recycling polyamide makes the production process more complex, the result is a reliable, long-lasting material that is lightweight, quick-drying, and wind-resistant, utilizing what would otherwise be waste while saving energy and resources.
